Rebecca L. Griffiths, B.S., D.M.D. has dedicated over 30 years to the treatment of dysfunction of the temporomandibular joints, more commonly referred to as TMJ or TMD. Dr. Griffiths’ passionate interest in TMJ treatment is the result of personally experiencing devastating headaches, facial muscle spasms, and teeth clenching for more than eight years due to her TMJ problem.
Dr. Griffiths completed a three year certification program with the world leaders in TMJ treatment in the 1980s. During the last three decades, she has developed a reputation for expert, successful, non-invasive treatment for head, neck, and facial pain without injections, drugs, or surgery. Dr. Griffiths’ child and adolescent patients have been sent to her mostly for non-extraction orthodontics, but she has also treated many children for TMD prior to their orthodontics. Many of Dr. Griffiths’ adult TMD patients have been referred by other health care practitioners and had experienced previously unsuccessful treatments and surgical failures. Dr. Griffiths’ patients experience relief from their TMJ dysfunction and its symptoms just a few days after wearing the dental appliances she custom fabricates for them.
